York West began it's operation in 1983 with the amalgamation of North York Properties Ltd. and Waverly Management Ltd. In 1995, Waverly York purchased the Western Portfolio of Regional Group of Companies Inc. to form one of Western Canada's largest fee management companies. The firm now operates as York West Asset Management Group Inc., or 'York West' for short.

York West is based out of Calgary with it's head office located on the city's south side. Regional offices in Edmonton offer support to regional asset management and property managers.
